It’s been around a week since I wrote my first blog. In the quest for the Holy Grail of creating a presence for my ebook “ A Smattering of Darkness”, I researched intensively and when I saw Medium, it was love at first “site”. The layout, the quality of writing and the courtesy of most contributors was par excellence.
Five blogs later, I can sum up my feelings for blogging.
- No restraints of word or character counts.
- Freedom to express my views on a variety of topics.
- No performance anxiety.
- Prompt feedback and response.
I love it.
In this chaotic race for reviews and readership, one forgets the purpose of writing, which is primarily to connect. Blogging has brought me back to the beauty of the basics. The freedom of expression without the yoke of expectation.
A book begs for your attention. A blog stares you straight in the eyes.
A book is a mere whisper in a thundershower of words. A blog is a trumpet heralding your voice.
A book leaves you saturated with endless exhaustion. A blog leaves you satiated with instant gratification.
I am packing my bags and taking up residence here. It has been a warm welcome for this new kid on the blog. I feel at home, finally.
